GenoVive Product Usage and Customer Service Policies


GenoVive prohibits participation by persons under the age of 18, women who are pregnant or nursing, individuals with an active diagnosis of an eating disorder of anorexia or bulimia nervosa, individuals who are allergic to nuts, and individuals with certain medical conditions. Your determination of eligibility relies on your truthful and accurate answers to the questions asked on your initial order form filled out at the time you purchase a DNA test kit. All DNA test kit orders and first month of meal plan orders must be approved by GenoVive’s Physician of Record before being shipped to you. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, the Physician of Record will not approve your order and you will be notified via email. You will only be shipped and charged for orders approved by the Physician of Record.

Geographic Exceptions: Residents of the state of New York due to additional laboratory certification requirements specific to that state

Protecting Your Privacy

All of GenoVive’s information about you is provided by you. When you register on, you are responsible for providing truthful and accurate information to all of the questions asked by GenoVive including your full name, email address, username and password. When you choose to become a GenoVive customer and order products, you are responsible for providing truthful and accurate information to all questions asked by GenoVive including your full name, gender, ethnicity, height, weight, date of birth, address, phone number and answering a series of health and lifestyle questions.

In addition to the information you provide to us through online forms, you may choose to correspond with GenoVive via email or by phone. In this case, we may save the content of your email messages or phone conversation together in a file with your personal information. This information will also be safeguarded and will not be shared with any third parties at any time.

All personally identifiable information you provide to us in confidence will not be shared outside of GenoVive without your permission.

What Online Information Do We Track

Like other commercial websites, GenoVive uses standard cookies and webs server logs to collect information about how our website is used. This information is collected on an aggregated basis and is not associated with you as an individual. How We Use Your Information

The information collected about you by GenoVive is used to approve, process, ship and track your orders. We may send you emails for order tracking purposes or communicate other information about your account to you via email.

Your DNA Test and Results

All DNA samples are processed in our CLIA certified lab. Your DNA sample will be tested only for specific genetic markers related to weight loss and weight management as specified in GenoVive’s patent pending proprietary process. Your GenoVive Weight Management DNA Profile Report will contain the results of your DNA test and will be delivered to you via your password protected "My Account" section of You may choose to download and save this PDF file on your personal computer for future reference. This information will remain confidential. If you choose to contact GenoVive by phone or email with questions about your DNA test results or the information contained in your report, you will be asked to answer 2 identification questions to verify your identity according to HIPAA guidelines.

After your DNA test results have been confirmed, your DNA sample will be destroyed according to HIPAA guidelines.

Federal Laws protecting you:

Some people worry that once they know a genetic fact about themselves; they could be forced to share that information with an insurer or employer. The United States instituted a new law on May 21, 2008 called the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), which protects Americans against unfair treatment from employers and insurers on the basis of genetic information. As a result, you are NOT required to disclosure genetic information to an employer or insurer, nor can they legally discriminate against you.

Withdraw of Consent:

If you decide that you do not wish to proceed with a nutrigenetic screening DNA test after submitting your cheek swabs, you must contact GenoVive LLC at 1-800-DNA-MEAL within: two (2) days after mailing your cheek swabs to stop the genetic test or five business (5) days after mailing your cheek swabs to stop receiving your results. If you choose to cancel the genetic test or do not want to receive the test results, your sample will be destroyed. You will not be eligible a refund after submitting your cheek swabs.

Important Health Information

Please consult your physician before beginning any diet or exercise program.  The information provided by GenoVive and contained in this website, including an individual’s results of the GenoVive Weight Management DNA Test, is not intended to prevent, diagnose or treat any medical condition and should not replace the advice of your physician.  If you experience pain or physical difficulties while eating a reduced calorie diet or during exercise, please stop and contact your physician immediately.

If you are currently being treated for any illnesses or medical conditions, taking prescription medication or following a doctor recommended diet, it is essential for you to consult with your physician before starting the GenoVive program and to follow up with your physician on a regular basis after you start losing weight. Losing weight and eating a reduced calorie diet may create physical changes that should be monitored by a physician. If you are on prescription medication, losing weight or eating a reduced calorie diet may require a change in your treatment program or medication dosage. After review by your physician, any changes made by your physician to the GenoVive program should be followed.

Your Responsibility to Follow the GenoVive Program Guidelines

GenoVive’s daily meals have been designed to be nutritionally complete and provide you with the right amount of nutrients and calories to sustain a safe, healthy weight of weight loss while maintaining your energy each day. While on the GenoVive meal program, it is important to eat all of the food provided in your daily meal kits and follow all program guidelines as specified. Failure to follow the program protocol may change your weight loss progress and could cause side effects due to a lack of essential calories.

Your GenoVive exercise program has been designed to help you lose weight in conjunction with the GenoVive foods you eat while on the program. Proper exercise is important to achieve results in your weight loss program. Please consult your physician before beginning an exercise program. If you have any doubts about your physical capability to perform any suggested exercises, please do not attempt those exercises without consulting your physician.

Food Availability and Substitutions

GenoVive will take great care to assure that we have sufficient inventory to fill your order in a timely manner. You will not be billed for your meal program order until it ships out to you. Due to popular demand or shipping delays from our food suppliers, there may be times when substitutions or changes to your menu need to be made. In this case, the substituted items will meet the nutritional criteria of your meal program.

The foods in GenoVive’s meal program include a variety of meats, vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Persons with nut allergies are ineligible to order GenoVive products. At this time, GenoVive does not have a meal program that accommodates nut allergies or other special dietary needs such as vegetarian or gluten free. Special dietary needs meal programs may be developed in the future.

Order Acceptance/Confirmation

Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. The GenoVive web site reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. Currently, we do not accept orders outside of the continental United States.

Pricing Policy

GenoVive will honor current order pricing however online prices and offers for future orders are subject to change.

Paying for Your Order

You may pay for your orders with major credit cards issued in the United States of America. Currently, we accept Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover® Card and PayPal® through PayPal Express Checkout ®option. does not accept personal checks, money orders or certified checks for purchases.

Credit and debit card are not charged until we ship the item(s). However, we will pre-authorize your order amount with your credit or debit card issuer when your order is approved to be shipped, which may have an effect on your available credit line. A hold is placed on funds equal to your order until the order is fulfilled.

After you place an order using our shopping cart, we will check the information you gave us for validity, by verifying your method of payment and/or shipping address. We reserve the right to reject any order you place with us without giving any reason. If we reject your order, we will attempt to notify you using the e-mail address you have given us.

Sales Tax Policy

GenoVive collects and remits sales tax as required by U.S. law for transactions on Current law requires sales tax to be collected for shipments made to Louisiana shipping addresses.

Shipping Policy

Monthly Meal Program Orders: A Shipping and Handling ("S&H") charge of $39.99 will be added to each order for monthly Meal Plans shipped. GenoVive reserves the right to use any freight company to expedite your order. Shipping terms are FOB shipping point.

Return Policy

GenoVive will grant a refund only on your first order of your monthly meal program. If you choose to return the food, you must notify GenoVive by phone at 1-855-DNA-MEAL within 7 days after receiving your food shipment and receive a return authorization number (RA) from customer service. You are responsible for shipping any unused food back to GenoVive before your refund will be processed. You will be refunded the amount you paid for the food only and not any shipping charges.
